Neutral three-dimensional Eu3+- and Tb3+-based metal−organic frameworks (MOFs) with 4-fold interpenetration can be produced by seeding with anionic Cd2+-based MOF crystallites of identical connectivity. In the absence of these crystallites, twodimensional networks are formed.
