An organic dye coordinated titanium iso-propoxide compound is designed and synthesized. Taking advantage of the hydrolysis of the titanium alkoxide moiety on the surface of TiO₂ electrode, the dye–semiconductor surface properties, including anchoring and dispersivity, are improved, which opens a new perspective to explore dyes for DSSCs.
