Abstract: Self-cleaning coatings have received a huge attention because of their extensive applications from window glass cleaning, solar panel cleaning to textiles. This report simply reviews two main categories of self-cleaning coating: superhydrophilic and superhydrophobic coatings. Their working mechanism, fabrication techniques and applications are also introduced. Some of the self-coating technologies developed in the University of Toronto will be presented.
个人简历：
陆诚师从杨平教授， 2002年获得硕士学位，然后到加拿大西安大略大学攻读博士，主要研究方向为光子晶体的制备和应用，2008年毕业并获得优秀论文奖。2008年底到多伦多大学在Dwayne Miller 的课题组做博士后，其研究方向为用飞秒级超快电子束探测晶体结构的瞬时变化。其参与的对于有机晶体（EDO-TFF）PF6的结构转变研究2013年发表在Nature 上。现在他的主要研究方向为新型功能性涂层的研发和应用。
