Dr. Xiaodi SU received her PhD in 1995 from Nankai University, China, majored in Analytical Chemistry. She used to be a visiting scientist at the Fudan University (1986-1987), a lecture at the Tianjin Normal University, China (1987-1989), and a postdoctoral fellow at the Tianjin University, China (1996-1997). She worked in the Department of Chemistry, National University of Singapore as a Research Associate from 1997-1998. She then joined the Institute of Materials Research & Engineering (IMRE), ASTAR, Singapore. She is currently a senior scientist, leading the Materials Analysis and Characterization capability group as a group head. Her research interest is to develop advanced analytical technologies for biomedical research. She has published 93 research papers (H index 26, total citation ~2000) in prestigious journals, including Analytical Chemistry, ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, Lab-on-a-Chip, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces Sciences, Biophysical Journal, and Langmuir etc. She has filed 15 patents (2 licensed).
In this presentation she will introduce the research scopes of the Materials Analysis and Characterization capability group at IMRE. She will then discuss her research on using plasmonic and nanoplasmonic technologies for studying biomolecular interactions in diagnostics and in gene transcription study.
