讲座简介:The basis of optical spectroscopy is presented in transition rate, radiative and nonradiative transitions of luminescent materials doped with rare earth ions. Radiative and nonradiative transition rates of RE ions in a host lattice are governed by numerous factors of interaction between RE ions and host lattice with light. Therefore, relaxation processes of excited state of luminescence centers are necessary to be understood the luminescence mechanism. Emission decays and temperature dependences on luminescence give valuable information on design new phosphors and to elucidate mechanisms. Some results of RE doped phosphors are reported.
